Why no DB8?
Aston Martin said that its DB7 replacement was so far advanced of its predecessor that to give it a sequential name would be doing it a disservice. Whether that's the whole story, we may never know. But what we do know is that the DB9 was a truly exceptional car that certainly was leaps and bounds ahead of anything Aston had produced up until that point. Styling came courtesy of the famous Ian Callum, while all DB9s came equipped with the firm's excellent 5.9-litre V12.
This 2008 example has everything going for it. Eagle-eyed Aston enthusiasts will have noticed it's the desirable post-facelift model, featuring clear tail lamps, revised grille/mirrors and the rather James Bond gadget-like glass key. Speaking of the nation's favourite secret agent, the personalised plate is not included in the sale. Bond would probably prefer something more subtle anyway...
As the photographs show, the Aston is in very good condition for its age, and the mileage currently stands at just 51,463 miles.
