MK1 Volkswagen Golf Clipper Convertible 1989 - G547 DVP
The car has travelled less than 1, 300 miles in the past 6 years, since being fully restored and is original in every way.
I have decided to sell my cherished MK1 Golf. There is a genuine reason for sale which I will share with any genuine / interested buyer.
The car is 100% mint condition and this is not in any way an over exaggeration as you will see from the photographs.
It was totally stripped back to the metal and repainted 6 years ago and the car has been fully restored whilst retaining every originality including the paint colour. The interior is original and virtually untouched, it has had a new hood and liner, fuel tank and filler pipe, drive shaft and steering neck gaiters, windscreen (all other windows are original and marked with the registration plate), thermostat and rear shock absorbers.
The engine is sweet, smooth and oil leak free and it ticks over, once warm as happy as any new VW. Many engine parts have also been replaced. The engine is sound and that can be verified by a local mechanic who has serviced, MOT'd and maintained the car for the past 6 years.
New front brakes and callipers were fitted in 2020 and the entire rear brakes have been replaced in 2021. It was fully serviced at the time of the MOT in 2021 and since then has only traveled 92 miles. I regularly start the engine and back it in and out of the garage, where it remains under cover.
There is a stainless steel exhaust, which sounds beautiful and each BBS wheel is like new including the tyres.
I have fitted a modern Pioneer stereo which sounds really nice. I’ve upgraded the speakers with Alpine one’s and these fit perfectly where the original factory ones were. I have the original gear knob and window winders if you prefer to fit these. I quite like the retro pool ball gear knob and skateboard winders, but I appreciate that is a personal opinion.
I am willing to liaise with any serious potential buyer and accommodate them such as collecting you from the train station etc... however I do not appreciate time wasters so please show respect. This is an amazing car in perfect condition and the price advertised is the price, I am not open to negotiation.
