The Appeal
The Mk2 breathed new life into the Capri thanks to revised styling and a full hatchback. That it was also adopted by a certain bubble-permed secret agent and his suave buddy certainly didn’t harm sales.
Thanks to rust and the sheer joy of driving a Capri, there are few Mk2 survivors these days. This car avoided that fate because it was dry stored in a garage from 1989 until the vendor discovered it in 2020. Finished in shining blue with contrasting orange alloys, it is an eye-catching car. Inside, the interior has been retrimmed with correct Beta black cloth and retains original features such as the factory radio.
The mechanics are in a similar order. The peppy 2L Pinto has been upgraded with a Weber 32/36 manual choke carburettor, which has been professionally tuned by a Weber specialist. This is a rare find for 70s Capri enthusiasts and looks in great shape.
The vendor says:
“Car drives well, car I wanted back 70 put smile on your face driving it gets plenty of attention sitting at traffic lights and going to the pub.”
