The Appeal

The return of the 6-Series nameplate was a statement of intent by BMW. The E63 and its E64 convertible sibling introduced a new style - including stylish buttressed drop top roof - and compelling mix of sports car performance and GT comfort.

The 650i convertible is the sort of car we’re unlikely to see again soon. The snorting N62 4.8L V8 is good for 385bhp, its burbling soundtrack enhanced on this well maintained car by a Tony Banks bespoke sports exhaust.

The vendor has a small car collection and enjoys a good V8. He has lavished this car with improvements totalling £12,500 since buying it last year. That work has covered the areas buyers will want to check on these cars, including fitting a refurbished gearbox and replacing the brake discs, pads and lines.

Finished in tasteful Stratus metallic with a Dakota cream leather cabin - the seats of which have been recently re-Connollised - this is a very tidy example of a great GT car. It comes to market with a recent service and long, advisory-free MOT to September 2025.

“Drives very nice indeed. Gears are smooth changing and car steers straight when releasing steering while and whilst braking remains straight. Brakes work very well indeed. remains flat through cornering and rides bumps well without issue.

“Its unique features are its performance, matched with its unique V8 symphony of sound. Being a convertible also gives great access to that soundtrack. It has pearlescent paint that changes colour in the sunshine which is very unique. I bought it because it looked and sounded great. Now all issues are fixed new owner can be confident there won’t be any surprises
