The Appeal
One must look upon the TF as the last of its breed; the end of a bloodline that began with MG's first T Series car, the TA Midget back in 1936. The TF's rakish, sloped radiator grille and lower bonnet line distinguished it from the TD it replaced, and the 1,250cc XPAG engine paired with a four-speed manual gearbox continues to deliver a surprisingly spritely driving experience more than seventy years on.
This UK home market TF has spent the majority of its life in the care of a single registered keeper, who maintained it regardless of cost and used it regularly on the road. In fact, DVLA data shows just two former registered keepers! In 2017, it was entrusted to a specialist bodyshop for a repaint and associated detailed work, and the vendor reports the finish remains in very good health. Backed by a history file evidencing decades of careful expenditure, this is a usable and well-documented TF that would be difficult to replicate.image.png1.83 MB
