The Appeal

Few cars can claim to have changed the world, but perhaps the Mustang did. It gave the people what the people really wanted - a sporty car with a practical flavor available in innumerable combinations of color, trim and spec.

The earliest cars are the purest, but even then, it all comes down to specification. This 1965 car scores highly on that front since it has the optional 289CI 4.7L 210bhp engine plus a 4-speed manual box. It is a pleasing blend of updated aesthetics and originality, thanks to a recent repaint and nicely preserved off-white interior. Enthusiasts will spot the steel wheels with the Rostyle-style chrome trims, whitewall tires and original radio.

The car arrived in the UK in 2020 and was with its current owner in 2023. Well specified and sympathetically restored, this is a pretty and very original example of the open-top Pony car.
