The Appeal
Taking its handsome, slab-sided styling from the fantastic Lincoln Continental, the ‘67 Fury used Chrysler’s full-size C-body, allowing the marketing team to quite reasonably sell it as ‘a living room on wheels.’ These cars are among the best of the more understated Detroit 60s era.
We’re told that this Dark Copper metallic ‘67 remained with its first owner for 50 years, always garaged and with every bit of maintenance carefully recorded. It’s said to be largely original, aside from some localised repainting. The matching bronze American Racing five-spokes, with their polished rims, are also not original but they suit the car’s look neatly. As a plush Fury III, the interior features textured vinyl and cloth trim—here in matching light tan—and it’s all in very good condition.
The car arrived in the UK in 2017 and was bought by the current owner in 2021. It’s been used regularly but sparingly, according to the MOT records. We can’t verify the mileage shown, but the previous seller suggested it’s accurate, and you can check that in the photos. Since purchasing the car it’s had a full service and a carburettor overhaul. The engine bay has also been improved, and the car has been fitted with a period-correct radio.
With its optional factory 5.2L 318CI V8, this stylish slice of Americana has the punch to match the generous room.
