The Appeal

The Spitfire is one of those British classics that is just about one thing - great fun. Simple, honest and nicely styled, these cars were many enthusiasts’ first introduction to roadster motoring. The 1.3L Mk3 is widely considered to be the ‘sweet spot’ of the model’s development because of its free-revving engine.

This 1968 Mk3 is the sort of car you could likely jump in and enjoy. It’s a really tidy and usable example, smartly presented in red with black interior, and makes no claims to be a show pony. That means you can enjoy it without worrying, but also provides scope to make it better if you wish.

Mechanically, we’re told that it is in great order and starts and runs well. The vendor acquired it last year and has spent money replacing the fuel and water pumps, various hoses and the heater cable. If you want a Mk3 Spitfire you can simply enjoy, this honest car promises exactly that.
