The Appeal
Together with the De Tomaso Pantera, the 124 Sport Spider is one of designer Tom Tjaarda’s best-loved designs and one of Italy’s favourite two-seater classic convertibles. The early cars, with their chrome bumpers, are closest to Tjaarda’s pure design, while the revised BS1 got the 1.6L 110bhp engine and 5spd gearbox that enthusiasts revere.
This car is one of those early, improved cars. Classically painted red with a black vinyl interior, it is a well presented car that is nicely detailed with a set of period Cromodora alloys. The car retains its black Italian plates and Italian registration. Overall, this is a really tidy and usable example of a desirable 124 Spider model.
