The Attractions
The E9 introduced a style of BMW coupé so successful and long-lived that it influenced subsequent models for decades. Admiring this 1972 car, it's easy to see why: the design is simply gorgeous and is set off by the burgundy livery, which enhances the many chrome trims.
The paintwork is original, but has recently been freshened up. The interior has also been restored with great care and attention, retaining what did not need replacing such as the wood trim, door panels and headlining, but reupholstering the seats with the correct beige fabric true to the original specification.
The mechanics also received a lot of attention. The engine was dismantled and rebuilt and tolerances checked, the injection system overhauled. The brakes, suspension, injection system and fuel system were also thoroughly overhauled or replaced.
Originally registered in Italy, this E9 is accompanied by valid Italian documentation and has an overhaul valid until 2026. The E9 is a gran turismo of the highest calibre, and this example looks set to provide its next owner with plenty of excitement and satisfaction.IMG_20241112_154501.jpg6.22 MB
