The Appeal
The 997 didn’t mess with a winning water-cooled 911 formula, but it did add back some desirable classic design cues like the ovoid headlights and retro-style dashboard. Of the many flavours available, the one widely regarded by owners and reviewers as the best ‘everyday’ one is this one - the Carrera S with manual box.
Finished in ‘triple black’ - Basalt Black metallic with matching leather and roof - this convertible is a very tidy and well-maintained low-mileage car. The ‘S’ package adds the larger 3.8L engine, extra power, bigger wheels and the PASM suspension upgrades. This car also has the desirable 6spd manual box.
The vendor acquired the car in 2023 and, like the previous keepers, has kept ahead of the servicing and maintenance. The work has been undertaken by main dealers and specialists. The last brake fluid change was in January 2023 at 70,310 miles and the last service in January 2025 at 71,300 miles. The current mileage is 71,617 miles. The MOT runs to January 2027 with no advisories.
This is a really tidy, nicely specified convertible with the sort of provenance you hope to find.
