Description

The Matchless G3 / L or Lightweight was originally developed for use by the British army during WW2 and was the first production motorcycle to use "Teledraulic" forks and oil damping .
Production began in 1941 and by 1942 accounted for the total production by the company and indeed were so successful that the Ministry of Defence continued to order them for some 15 years into the post war period .
By this time these bikes were very popular with trials riders like Artie Radcliffe and Ted Usher securing many wins using them in international competitions.
This example has a lovely patina and drives very nicely
Complete with current V5 and a variety of Matchless paperwork
