After the Vickers sale debacle in 1999 Volkswagen ended up acquiring Bentley and although there were existing models designed by Rolls they were desperate to break away and use all their skills of volume production and technical expertise to introduce their own designed Bentley.
The result in 2003 was the formidable Bentley GT with its amazing high tech W12 turbo engine , four wheel drive and beautiful svelte Coupe bodywork.
Of course it was an instant success and a standard setter in terms of massive useable high powered design.
