Description
Looking for the classic Volkswagen camper van aesthetic with the reliability of a modern engine? Look no further. We’re pleased to present this Danbury Motorhomes converted Brazilian Type 2 T2 Bay Window. A proven popular choice, featuring a reliable watercooled 1. 4L engine from the Volkswagen Fox.
Danbury was a well-known importer of Brazilian Type 2 Bay Windows, converting them into practical camper vans by fitting essential camping equipment and converting the driving position from left to right-hand drive. They offered two interior layouts: the ‘Diamond,’ featuring a full-width rock-and-roll bed, and the ‘Rio’ layout found in this particular camper.
The Rio layout includes a 3/ 4-width rear bench that functions as a three-seater with seatbelts and folds out into a bed, along with a kitchenette featuring a sink with cold-water tap, fridge, twin gas hobs, gas grill, and a collapsible table. Additional features include ample storage compartments, interior lighting throughout and a removable pedestal table.
This camper also benefits from power steering, a Sony stereo player and an immobiliser for extra added security.
The leisure battery can be charged via a 240V mains hook-up or through split charging while the engine is running.
The vertically inclining pop-top roof is supported by gas struts for easy operation, providing generous standing room inside, with the provision to install a roof bed.
The exterior retains its classic charm, finished in a traditional two-tone colour scheme of candy white over green paintwork, complemented by 17” Fuchs-style alloy wheels.
Private registration plate has been removed. New registration is visible in the highlights below the advert title.
Equally suited to weekend adventures or longer getaways, this Brazilian T2 delivers the charm of a classic Volkswagen with the comfort, reliability, and usability of a contemporary vehicle. A truly exceptional example ready to be enjoyed.
