Alexandre Darracq founded A Darracq et Cie in 1897 with the profits from his Gladiator bicycle company. By 1904, the Darracq company, after some poor investments in aspects of the pioneering automobile industry, replaced their wooden flitch-plated chassis’ with pressed steel, and the introduction of the new ‘Flying Fifteen’ 3L model, ensured its continuing success.
This 10hp model was acquired by the vendor in 2013 and has been successfully campaigned on several consecutive ‘Creepy-Crawly’ rallies in recent years. A good, useable veteran car almost identical to the car featured in the film ‘Genevieve’, it attracts great attention wherever it goes.
