Morris Oxford MO – £14, 000 Restoration
At Milestones we always like to have a number of outstanding 1950’s saloons available for our customers and are delighted to have secured a second Morris MO to offer for sale.
The Oxford has had just three owners from new and spent her entire life in Fife, Scotland. The first keeper, a jeweller, owned the MO for over thirty years and the car was sold by his executor to the second owner in 1995. The car was then off the road for over 20 years before the third owner purchased her in 2015 simply because his father owned a similar car when he was a child.
The restoration by Chic Doig Classic Sportscars Ltd (Fife) commenced in 2015. Work included new sills, floor pans, any corrosion removed from doors & wings and a bare metal respray in original Tweed Grey. Mechanical components were recommissioned/ replaced as required and the interior received new carpets & door cards - everything else was retained. The car still has that unique circa 1950 interior aroma and is like steeping back into a Miss Marple book!
On the road the car drives as well as she looks with smooth engine, easy column gear change and is well able to keep up with modern road conditions. The Oxford retains her original Fife registration number and comes with a small history folder containing handbook, recent MOT’s, invoices for the restoration and rare MO workshop manual.
With less than 100 MO’s on the road today we are delighted to have the opportunity to market yet another exceptional example. Perfect for touring holidays, Goodwood Revival or simply a trip to the pub on a sunny day this lovely Morris will give years of pleasure to the lucky new owners.
