The Appeal
The Beetle continues to be one of the most evocative cars ever built, but there's a special place in history for these - the 'Split-Window' bugs.
When the 'People's Car' first hit the market in 1947, it came with a split oval rear window. It was a characterful addition, if wholly impractical. By 1953, this was being simplified into a somewhat more practical, single-sheet oval, and then, by 1958, was replaced entirely by a more conventional rear windscreen. By Beetle standards, that makes them a short-lived and rather rare car!
As a result, we're expecting this Dutch-registered example to attract plenty of interest. Stemming from 1953, it's a highly original car through and through, with a striking blue livery, ample chromework and a rare original interior. Beetle (9).jpg1.98 MB
