The Appeal
The Land Rover Series I 86-inch represents the purest form of the iconic British utility vehicle, with its simple, functional design that would go on to conquer the world's toughest terrain.
This 1955 example carries fascinating provenance, having begun its life in service with the Ministry of Supply in Laleham, Surrey, where it was used by the Fire Service. After completing its service in 1964, it entered private ownership and has since been maintained with care and thoughtful upgrades.

Now finished in green (though flecks of its original red are still visible on the chassis and wheels), this Series I benefits from restoration work including a new front bulkhead and floor pan fitted in 2018. The vehicle retains its original Fairey overdrive - a desirable feature for Series I enthusiasts - and comes equipped with a front winch. Having covered just over 1,100 miles since 2021, "Milly" (as she's affectionately known) presents in exceedingly smart condition as a characterful and usable example of this increasingly collectible model.
