Produced between 1959 and 1967, the Mk2 would progress to become one of Jaguar’s most highly regarded creations, held dear for its respectable balance of performance, luxury styling, and passenger comfort.
It’s a vehicle known for its influence on the roads, throughout the motorsport world, and even amongst the British police force. Nowadays, these sleek performance saloons continue to receive high praise and come highly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors alike.
This particular example is arguably one of the finer available, boasting extensive restoration work covering the likes of an exterior overhaul, interior retrimming, and even a mechanical refresh. Since its restoration, the vehicle has seemingly covered only a mere handful of miles, and now presents a fantastic opportunity to obtain a superb example of the legendary Mk2.
The V5C document is present and ready to sign over
Ready to be enjoyed
As previously mentioned, this sleek Mk2 benefits from extensive restoration work, including both interior and exterior work, along with a mechanical overhaul. A full breakdown of the restoration process can be found within the included paperwork, which has been carefully itemised by the previous keeper. Included alongside the pictured collection of spreadsheets, is the V5C document, which is ready to sign over to the lucky new keeper.
Ever the symbol of lavish comfort, this Jaguar Mk2 shows off a gorgeous retrimmed interior, with red carpeting and seats, wooden detailing and classy touches throughout. As you would perhaps expect given the mileage covered since the vehicle’s restoration, the interior continues to present itself brilliantly today, showing very few signs of wear.
In fact, the only noteworthy blemishes can be found with the likes of the kick plate areas, minor discolouration to the carpeting, and the pictured dashboard defects. It should also be noted that the rear table’s securing mechanism may require attention moving forward, although this is rather minor.
Overall, the interior leaves rather little to be further desired. Any minor blemishes or defects present are seemingly only noticeable under very close inspection and seldom detract from the overall form. It’s certainly a very comfortable, and lavish cabin worthy of the Jaguar Mk2’s reputation. int.jpg209.83 KB
The Exterior
Finished in Ford Lunar Sky Grey Pearl
Extensive exterior restoration work
Features 15” wire-spoke wheels, with matching spinners
Presented in fantastic condition, with only light blemishes
As reflected in the included paperwork, this Jaguar Mk2 underwent considerable exterior restoration work between 2014, and 2017. Seemingly itemised rather well, the included spreadsheet details the likes of replacement panels, respective welding work, and of course, the paintwork.
No doubt selected for its classy nature and abundant shimmer, the vehicle now sports a coat of Ford Lunar Sky. The colour suits the elegant curves of the mighty Jag brilliantly and offers an excellent finish today. There are of course minor blemishes to be expected, including the pictured marking, and light bubbling in areas, but hardly anything capable of significantly detracting from the glossy finish.
Accompanying the sleek paintwork, are the correct wire-spoke wheels, and matching Jaguar spinners. Much like the rest of the vehicle, the wheels are presented in excellent condition, with only light blemishes and minor dust buildup. The wheels come wrapped in a set of Avon radial tyres, with plenty of tread left to enjoy.
Exterior details and trim components also boast great finishes for their age, particularly the light and indicator lenses. The brightwork retains plenty of shine, although the expected signs of age are beginning to show, in the form of light surface corrosion to certain areas. The rear wheel arch trims may also require slight fettling to achieve better fitment.
Overall, this Jaguar Mk2 certainly presents an excellent finish all around, and will no doubt continue to attract the admiration of onlookers. The aforementioned minor blemishes could likely be alleviated without great cost, and certainly shouldn’t discourage keen buyers.

Buyers will be pleased to know that the vehicle is said to fire up as it should, and performs with no known faults.
