The Appeal
Produced between 1976 and 1979, the TVR Taimar is the hatchback evolution of the 3000M. It married TVR's trademark fibreglass-bodied, tubular-chassis sports car formula with added practicality courtesy of its opening rear glass. With fewer than 400 built during its short production run, any well-sorted example is a noteworthy find for fans of these Blackpool-built sports cars.
This 1979 example presents in Royal Blue over a Grey and Black retrimmed leather interior. Its engine was rebuilt in 1995 to a 3.1 specification with a performance cam, and the vendor reports it remains strong and drives well. The chassis has recently been cleaned back, treated for surface corrosion and resealed, and is reported as solid. Sitting on Minator T Slot MiniLite-style wheels with Toyo Proxes tyres, and with a black vinyl hood described as still like new, this Taimar has clearly benefited from considerable care and investment over the years. Garaged and lightly used during the current ownership, it's time for this TVR to meet a new custodian.image.png1.85 MB
