The Appeal
All credit to Bob Lutz, who in the 1990s decided to create a modern version of one of motoring’s sacred cows - the Shelby Cobra. That’s a very high bar to set, but with a rumbling 400bhp 8L V10 beneath its lengthy bonnet, it’s fair to say that the simple, lightweight Viper firmly delivered.
Like the original AC, few cars have ever achieved what the Viper delivers for buyers. As the photos of this Viper Red 1994 SR I show, it’s a car that draws the eye, likely even when parked next to Italian exotica. The good overall condition of this low mileage example certainly helps, with even the attractive three spoke alloys, showing new Michelin rubber, presenting well. Other work has included a new clutch.
We are told that the car had two UK keepers before arriving in the UK in late 2015. Since then it has had three further keepers. It remains factory standard and comes with the optional lightweight fibreglass roof and window set. The appropriate registration plate is also included.
Reported to run well and supplied with current advisory-free MOT, this is a chance to discover one of Detroit’s most daring modern classics.
