The Appeal

If you know, you know. Any mid-90s Honda comes from an era when the firm was imbuing its family wagons with impeccable handling. If prices of CRXs have got away from you, here’s the perfect solution - the firm’s stylish Civic CRX coupe. It’s known in most markets as the ‘Del Sol’ and, with that big removable Targa roof, it’s easy to see why.

This 1994 car is a proper 'time warp' survivor that remains factory standard. It is the ESi model fitted with Honda’s 1.6L VTEC 16V engine and it has covered just 39,000 miles from new. The smart Paradise Blue Green Pearl paintwork is in great order, as is the bodywork, and the comfortable cabin shows few indications of wear.

The current keeper has owned the car since December 1994. In the intervening years the car has spent time, appropriately enough, in the sunny climes of Alicante. The service books shows a run servicing that supports the low displayed mileage. The current MOT runs to February 2027 with no advisories.

"This stunning “time warp” car was originally registered to Parkway Honda in Bristol presumably as a showroom demonstrator and then transferred into the current keeper’s name later the same year.

"After using the car locally in the UK for 6 years, covering only 22,000 miles in that time, the lady owner took the car out to Alicante, where it remained basking in the Spanish sunshine until returning to the UK in 2023.

"The cars stamped service book (& invoices) show supplying dealer history until 1999, and then the car was serviced in Alicante on numerous occasions, evidenced by Spanish invoices.

The whole car is original down to its factory wheel trims and pristine interior, showing only very minor signs of wear.

"The 1994 Honda CRX was a Targa Top Coupe based upon the successful Civic platform. The feature-packed CRX was ahead of its time, and with its removable Targa Roof, which stows in a liftable frame in the boot, bridged a gap between conventional coupes and full convertibles.

Its sleek 2-door pillarless design gave a stylish silhouette, and extras like the electrically dropping rear window glass added to the car’s appeal. This Esi model comes fitted with the 1.6 VTEC powerplant producing a lively 125bhp, providing brisk and engaging performance.

"The car has had £1000 spent since its return to the UK in the way of a full health check, Refit UK Headlamps (LHD headlamps accompany the car) and a service & MOT, the car failed its MOT on a few minor issues, front brake discs & pads which were replaced, an oil leak and minor exhaust leak were attended to which now results in a new MOT with no advisories. 3 keys, the book pack and a great history file accompany the car, including original brochure, purchase invoice, and numerous service invoices from both the UK & Spain.
