The Appeal
The C219 CLS may not have quite invented the ‘coupe saloon’ - that accolade arguably goes to the Rover P5 - but it certainly perfected it, ushering in a raft of copycats like the VW CC and Panamera. But the original is the best, the CLS cleverly blending four-door layout with a sleek coupe profile.
The CLS sold well, so finding one isn’t the issue. Finding a good, low mileage one like this 2005 CLS500 is far harder. It has covered less than 39,000 miles from new - supported by history and MOT records - and is a long way from the unloved, hard-driven examples that are often out there.
That means that the smart Indium Grey metallic and cream leather cabin, with its Elm Wood ‘open pore’ veneers, remain in really good condition. Looking across exterior and interior, this car looks far younger than its 20 years, an impression helped by the innovative design.
With its potent 306bhp V8, sumptuous interior and well-preserved condition, this CLS looks a treat. It comes with the added reassurance of a lengthy, advisory-free MOT.
The vendor says:
“The car is absolutely beautiful inside and out and is very highly admired. Stunning combination of indium grey with full cream leather interior.”
