The Appeal
Widely regarded by 911 enthusiasts as the last of the 'proper 911s,' the 997 remains one of the most favoured of Stuttgart's legendary rear-engined sports cars, and by 2007 it benefited from a larger IMS bearing, which reduced the risk of the bore score issues that can affect the 3.8-litre cars. For many enthusiasts, it's the sweet spot of the 997 range.
This black-on-black example showing 58,800 miles appears to have been well cared for throughout its life. The vendor, who has owned several 911s, reports that the car appears to have been garage-kept, with no signs of prolonged weather exposure and no obvious corrosion. The interior shows very little wear, and we're told everything works as it should. The vendor informs us that this car drives as well as his previous Gen 2 C4S, and rates it among the best 911s he has owned — high praise from an experienced hand.
Having seen plenty of recent investment and accompanied by a strong service history, this is a fabulous prospect, and a great entryway into Porsche ownership - or a fine addition to your existing Porsche-centric fleet. b9c365af-9aba-4902-848d-ed6570faabc4.jpeg133.56 KB
