Over £15,000 spent this year to perfect the aesthetics
The Appeal
There aren’t many automotive brands with quite the majesty and effortless class of Bentley, let alone the heritage. With the company enjoying its centenary year in 2019 (indeed, you’ll spot the ‘1919-2019’ badges on this car), the automotive scene was awash with Bentley-themed events, celebrations, hooplas and extravaganzas - from Blue Train hijinks to Le Mans blowers, all eyes have been on the iconic winged badge in recent years… and it’s not just a party for fans of vintage racers; no, if you’re more into modern-era motors than what Ettore Bugatti famously damned with faint praise as ‘the world’s fastest lorries’, the 21st-century Bentleys have been enjoying renewed appreciation among enthusiasts and tuners alike.
Probably the most recognisable modern-era Bentley is the Continental GT, a car which fuses impeccable luxury and quality with everyday usability in fine style. Of course, the more you dig into the specs and model codes of the Conti, the more you realise that there’s a near endless array of variants – so allow us to help you cut to the chase. The one we have here is a 2020 model, a third-generation car powered by the fabulous twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 engine. That means 626bhp, 664lb.ft, 0-62mph in 3.6s and potential to exceed 200mph. Hysterical performance, although – being a Bentley – it’s all served up with impeccable refinement and luxury. When you’re pootling along it’s like wafting in a leather-lined cloud.
This particular Conti is a sublime example of the breed, with just 11,000 miles on the clock and finished in tasteful Glacier White. It’s been maintained to a high standard by its sole owner, has a full main dealer service history, and has recently been treated to a new set of 22” alloy wheels. An incredibly impressive machine in all respects. image.png4.35 MB

2025 – invoice for £15,042 – new alloy wheels, panel repair and paintwork, carbon splitter
Finished in tasteful Glacier White, this elegant Bentley really cuts a dash. The paint has a wonderful lustre to it that really pops in the sunlight. The car’s recently had over £15,000 spent on it, adding a full set of new 22” Mulliner alloy wheels as well as some remedial body- and paintwork to get it up to tip-top condition; the new carbon fibre splitter alone accounts for £2000 of this expenditure. As such, it’s a highly impressive machine to behold today.
Bentley does interiors very well, and it goes without saying that the cabin of the Conti GT is a bit special. Soft premium-quality leather abounds, the Beluga black trim showing no marks or wear; the carpets and headlining are clean, and the European Touring Pack is present in the boot. The impressive spec includes diamond-stitched leather, the Touring Specification (which includes the head-up display, night vision, adaptive cruise control and lane assist), ventilated and heated massage seats, Band & Olufsen premium audio, mood lighting, carbon fibre and piano black veneers, inductive iPhone charging, deep-pile overmats, illuminated sill plates, and soft-close doors.image.png3.23 MB
The Mechanics
Twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12
8-speed dual-clutch auto
The W12 engine is a masterpiece, and it allows you a little bit of entertaining pub trivia. You see, it isn’t really a W-engine (technically there’s no such thing), but in fact a V12 with clever architecture whereby each bank has alternately canted cylinders, sort of like a pair of VW VR6 engines joined together (but altogether more majestic, naturally). The performance it serves up is other-worldly, the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission deploying the colossal power to the road with devastating force. And at the same time this is a quiet, refined and cosseting cruiser – a true Jekyll-and-Hyde car, depending on your mood. And with low mileage and full main dealer service history, you know that this car will be as dependable as it is mighty. image.png3.36 MB
