Description
For sale is a 1938 austin ten cambridge which i bought around 3 years ago to use as a donor car for my own austin ten, which i have now sold. 1st thing I must say is that I will not sell as individual parts and the buyer must take everything. the car is how i bought it as i couldn't bring myself to break it up. the body needs the most work and there is alot of welding to be done and some has been done by the previous owner which i think was stevie wonder judging by the job, so it all wants redoing in my opinion. all the chassis was done and fitted with alot of new items, king pins, springs etc and painted to quite a good standard. as far as i know the rear axle, gearbox and some other small components like the shockers had been refurbished. the engine is in need of rebuild and is loosly assembled(no 4 shells have gone)but the bores and valves etc all look presentable so it could get away with a set of shells. the interior is totaly shot but solid seat frames. all the brightwork, lights bumpers etc are all very straight but would need rechroming. a good set of wheels and half decent tyres(a little perished)although not pictured, all the glass is present and a decent windscreen and chrome surround. to the best of my knowledge the car has all the major items and would only need a minimum of parts but a huge amount of time. please remember that this car needs lots of work so would idealy be used only for parts. the new log book and the original green logbook are present and I am only the 2nd owner since 1938 the car has a nice registration which has been valued at £2000. the car was an original brown and beige coulor which still looks the orginal paint on the car now. this would be a useful buy for anyone who has a cambridge as it is a cheap buy if you work out how much all the parts would cost if you needed them.
