Wonderful example of this fine car with a comprehensive history.
1952 finished in Old English White, with re-upholstered red leather interior in superb condition, new hood, tonneau and side screens. Fully restored mechanically (origional engine) and bodily, inc new ash frame in 1998, all panels and doors fit as they should. RHD. Serviced summer 09.
This TD has recently undergone the recognised Hi-Gear 5 speed conversion providing better ratio's, allowing greater comfort and safer motoring on todays roads, comfortably keeping up with modern traffic, this well engineered reccomended conversion includes brand new prop shaft and clutch (including links) as well as bell housing and new starter pinion. stainless steel fixings used where possible.
The car drives very well, and now stops as it should with the welcome addition of servo assistance brakes. The upgrades also include pan filters, rather than the old fashioned oil bath filters. Cooling system upgraded with 7 blade MGB fan.
The TD has been further improved with a Pertronics electronic ignition, and negative earth conversion plus new coil and new battery.
The motor for the wipers is also situated in a central position, rather than the potentially hazardous position in front of the passengers head.
Full 3 point inertia seat belts have also been fitted further improving comfort, and safety and as well as increasing the usuablilty.
5 very good Pirelli tyres, pressed steel wheels chrome hubcaps as well as recent MOT which revealed absolutly no issues current or potential, valid until sept 09. Tax exempt. Timber structure absolutely sound. chrome luggage rack.
Paintwork in excellent condition, as with chrome, this TD is piped red around all panel joints, and looks superb and very period.
The car has been quite deliberately brought upto a greater standard of reliability, allowing pleasurable use in todays traffic and road conditions, whilst still retaining considerable period charm.
A most worthy purchase and eligable for many classic events, and rallys such as Goodwood, in excellent usuable condition.
