Having sold my Series Land Rover in less than 16 hours through Car and Classics I now have a Series 3 gearbox with transfer box and OVERDRIVE and a prima diesel engine for sale. These were going into my series Land Rover but now it's been sold before I had chance to fit them they are available at just £400 for the two (please don't haggle, the price is already less than I paid and both are now getting very difficult to get hold of). Prima diesel connected to a Series 3 box with overdrive are reported to give series land Rovers over 30mpg; 70mph and lots of torque. To carry out the conversion some additional bits will be needed but these are not difficult to obtain and some people have made most of the extra bits themselves. My insurance company considered the change not to be classed as a conversion. Full details of the fitting are available as are copies of reputable specialist magazine articles. A reported 30mpg and 70mph from a series Land Rover has to be good.
