Comes with original military radio equipment in the rear
Sympathetically recommissioned with engine service and brake overhaul
Voluntary MOT to 22nd January 2027
The Appeal
Land Rovers served the British Armed Forces as early as 1949, so it's to the Solihull firm that the MOD turned when it needed a new rugged, dependable artillery tractor with 4x4 capability. Enter the 101 Forward Control, a vehicle engineered to tow heavy trailers and carry substantial loads across the most demanding terrain imaginable. Its forward-control layout, four-wheel drive and 3.5-litre Rover V8 engine give it a character and road presence quite unlike any other Land Rover, and honest, usable survivors are becoming increasingly hard to find.
This 1976 example is a left-hand drive, 24-volt military specification truck that has been sympathetically recommissioned after a period in storage. The engine has been serviced and the brakes overhauled, and it has since been regularly used and enjoyed. The vendor reports that it appears never to have required major structural repairs, presenting as a very solid vehicle throughout. It retains plenty of its original military character, including a large quantity of original radio equipment boxed in the rear, a detail that many examples have long since lost. A recently fitted hood completes the picture. Tax and MOT exempt, this is a 101FC that is ready to be driven and enjoyed, and its left-hand drive configuration may also appeal to those considering export.image.png1.34 MB
