The Appeal

More refined, better built, more comfortable and, crucially, much better to drive thanks to Ford’s revised suspension geometry, the Mk4 is the car that the original XR3i should always have been. They sold by the bucketload, yet original, unmodified, low-mileage examples like this 1988 car are now as rare as hen’s teeth.

It is a really tidy example, finished in Diamond White with a smartly preserved grey velour cabin. The vendor bought the car in December 2024 and has invested in a new timing belt and water pump, and has had the car serviced and undersealed. It is said to run and drive well. The MOT runs to March 2027. A very tasty slice of 80s hot hatch.
