The Appeal

The second generation 3-Series offered buyers the same bulletproof engineering as the original but with much more predictable handling. It was a package that firmly kicked started the enduring success of BMW’s compact saloon. Despite its popularity, good, low mileage examples like this remarkably preserved 1991 Touring are in surprisingly short supply.

The strong appeal of these cars lies in their drivability and durability - it would be easy to see this low mileage estate pressed into daily duties. It is a really good example and said to be highly original, including paintwork and glass. A retro 90s Bluetooth Pioneer stereo replaces the original which is included - the original radio/cassette is included. As a 320 it has the firm’s smooth fuel injected 6cyl 130bhp 2L engine, with power via a 5spd manual box.

The vendor tells us that he acquired the car in 2019 from its previous long term keeper, who had owned it since 1992. The history file tells a similar story to the exterior and interior condition, showing 34 service stamps and 32 MOTs. Recent work includes a service with new cambelt and water pump in 2023. In 2026 the car received new exhaust, brake discs and pads and new tyres. The current MOT runs to June 2027 with no advisories.

Any E30 is tempting for all the reasons we’ve explained. This highly original car adds impressive condition, provenance and maintenance to that appeal.
