The Appeal
Launched for the 2000 model year, the Red Label did away with the Arnage's BMW-derived powertrain in favour of Rolls-Royce and Bentley's venerable old L Series V8. In heavily revised, turbocharged 6.75-litre form, it produced 400 horsepower and a record-shattering 616 lb-ft (835 Nm) of torque. The car represented a distinctly traditional approach to grand touring, with a character firmly rooted in Crewe's coachbuilding heritage at a time when Bentley was moving towards mass production techniques with the new Continental GT.
This 2001 Arnage is a Japanese-market example, benefiting from a life spent away from salted roads. It has just 4,319 km indicated on the odometer, which the vendor believes to be correct. There are some minor cosmetic blemishes to note, but this remains amongst the smartest surviving examples of this coveted model one could ever hope to find.image.png1.48 MB
