The Appeal
Like equality, some sweet spots are sweeter than others. So it is the E46 330i, arguably the best real-world choice from a hugely impressive range of cars. With modern cars offering an increasingly nannying experience, the appeal of perhaps the last and greatest analogue driver’s car only grows.
Outside the all-out, single-focussed appeal of the M3, the 330 offers an arguably better blend of usability and performance thanks to that revvy M54 straight six. This 2003 330 M Sport convertible is finished in the rare colour of Topaz Blue and fitted with a desirable 5spd manual box. It was factory-supplied with £5,000 of options, including an upgraded leather and wood-veneer interior.
Enthusiast-owned by recent keepers, it has been garaged when not in use. The result is a well-kept car, as shown by the extensive history file. The current keeper bought it earlier this year and has put some serious effort into making it as good as possible. He entrusted it to BMW specialist JF Autotech for over £5,000 of work covering servicing, brake repairs, sump gasket, clutch and flywheel. The car has barely covered any miles since this work was done.
With a lengthy MOT to March 2027, here is a chance for the buyer to capitalise on all those recent improvements with a nicely specified example of a truly great driver’s car.
