The Appeal
Only built for three years from 2003 to 2006, the 950 Adventure, as the name suggests, was essentially a Dakar rally bike with a road licence. Long-travel suspension, a tall seat and a complete absence of nannying aids make these capable and highly regarded machines.
This 2004 example has covered 38,682 miles and was bought by the current keeper in 2021. Since then it has been stored in a heated, dehumidified garage. A number of thoughtful modifications have been carried out to reduce weight and improve the riding experience, including a 2-into-1 exhaust, single front disc conversion, uprated fork springs, and an Oberon slave clutch. Touring-oriented additions such as heated grips, a Garmin sat nav, top box, and a lowered, sculpted seat make it a practical companion for long distances. The vendor states the bike is in very good condition for the year with no obvious problems. With an advisory-free MOT valid until March 2027, it is ready for your next adventure.
The vendor says:
“Bike is currently fitted with road tyres and, with the firmer K-Tech fork springs, makes a fantastic touring bike. Rear shock responds to adjustment as required. With the comfortable seat and decent screen, it cruises really well but can also get a real hustle on as the suspension is top quality.”
