The Appeal
Widely regarded as the closest thing to a MotoGP machine ever offered for road use, the Ducati Desmosedici RR was built around a desmodromic V4 engine derived from Ducati's grand prix racing programme. Limited in production and revered by collectors, examples with notable provenance command particular attention, and this one has provenance in spades.
Originally purchased new in February 2009 by Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali, Team Principal of Petronas Yamaha SRT and CEO of the Sepang International Circuit, this Desmosedici RR has a direct and meaningful connection to the world of MotoGP. That connection is further underscored by the signature of the late Nicky Hayden, the 2006 MotoGP World Champion, on the right side of the seat unit.
Acquired by the current owner in May 2021 and subsequently imported to the UK, the bike has not been ridden on British roads. It has been kept in heated storage with the fuel tank drained, and for those seeking a Desmosedici RR with a story to match its engineering, this is a compelling opportunity.
