The Appeal
Good as any L322 is, it is the late facelift cars that are the ones to have, and this Autobiography is a fine example. They brought the uprated Ford-built TDV8 and the stronger 8-speed ZF gearbox, which also makes lighter work of higher speeds.
The 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, with 313bhp and 516lb-ft of torque, is widely regarded as the pick of the range, and in Autobiography form it is paired with the full measure of luxury and comfort. This 2012 example is finished in Santorini Black over Ivory leather, a combination that suits the car beautifully.
It has been properly maintained across its five keepers, with the vendor entrusting servicing and repairs to main dealers and Land Rover specialists. The service book carries 15 stamps to April 2026, and the car has covered only around 1,700 miles since. Bodywork, paintwork and interior all present well for their age with only light wear, and the vendor reports no current mechanical faults or warning lights. An advisory-free MOT to February 2027 adds further reassurance.
The vendor says:
"Few cars can take a young family from Surrey to the Alps in this kind of comfort, which is exactly why I bought it. It's the last shape of the "original" Range Rover, in Autobiography trim, which is about as good as this generation gets. I've owned it since 2020 and it's covered several European road trips with us, including runs down to Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany. The 4.4 TDV8 diesel and automatic gearbox make for a relaxed, effortless drive, and the air suspension is where this car really comes into its own. It soaks up poor road surfaces and just glides over them, isolating you from the outside world in a way that reminds you you're driving something a bit special; exactly what you want for long-distance touring."
