When production of the MGB ceased in 1980, few could have predicted that the model would make an unexpected return little more than a decade later. Revealed at the 1992 British Motor Show, the MG RV8 represented a revival of the classic British V8 roadster formula, combining the timeless lines of the MGB with modernised engineering, upgraded refinement and the unmistakable performance of Rover's venerable aluminium V8 engine.

Built at Rover's Cowley facility, the RV8 was far more than a simple reintroduction of the MGB. The bodyshell was extensively revised, suspension improved, and the interior transformed with Connolly leather, burr elm veneers and a significantly more luxurious specification. Power came from the proven 3. 9-litre Rover V8, producing effortless performance accompanied by the distinctive soundtrack that had long made V8-powered MGs so appealing.

Offered here is a particularly attractive UK-market example, finished in the model's signature Woodcote Green — a colour closely associated with the RV8 and one that perfectly complements its Stone Beige leather interior. The paintwork is in lovely condition, retaining a deep gloss indicative of careful ownership, while the car has reportedly always been garaged and reserved for fine-weather use.

The interior presents equally well, with the distinctive burr elm dashboard and trim remaining notably well preserved, avoiding the cracking and deterioration often encountered.
