Description
For sale XK 140 coupé from 1955. Authentic British. (343 examples made) Its bonnet is in 2 sections. A wide chrome strip is fixed in the middle. This appears to be a pre-production model.
The Jaguar was sound overall and underwent a bare metal bodywork restoration. It has been returned to its original BRG colour, in accordance with Jaguar Heritage documentation.
Regarding the mechanical side, the compression is good and balanced. The fuel pump has been replaced with a Facet unit. It benefits from electronic ignition and a new ignition harness. A complete clutch kit has been installed and the entire braking system has been overhauled (master cylinder, copper piping, wheel cylinders, pads and all adjustment components). The rear dampers are adjustable and new. The front ones are in good condition. The cooling system has been revised on the advice of Jaguar Exclusive. The radiator is now aluminium. Inside, the carpet has been changed as well as the trim. The leather has a nice patina and the woodwork has been revarnished.
The headlights, battery and tyres are new. The exhaust line is stainless steel. The bumpers are absent for aesthetic reasons.
All chrome parts have been replaced with new or re-chromed with the exception of the bumpers which are in good condition.
On the dashboard all instruments work except the clock.
I have owned this car since 2018. MOT passed.
