THE FIRST Bristol motor car I have ever owned. She is a 1950 Bristol 401 coupe and one thing you won't have to ask me about or worry about is rust to the bodywork. She has been totally stripped to bare - not metal - but aluminium!
Only 611 of these 401s were built and what a design! The engine is in place complete with triple Solex carbs. It turns freely and the previous owner informs me that she was running earlier this year with a direct fuel feed under the bonnet. The car has its original correct spec BMW engine in situ. The bonnet, you will note, has four catches and was designed to be removed totally.
The chassis has undergone some recent welding work which has been to a good standard. The owner tells me that he completed around two-thirds of what was required.

The two front seats are there. I see no back seat. Floors are pretty much all there. Finished articles are mega-money. It's a project and so viewing is advised.
