Renault Floride cabriolet from 1961, Trinidad red, which I have owned since 2008. Collector's registration document.
Very attractive exterior and interior presentation, with upholstery in excellent condition and particularly well-maintained cabin.
MECHANICS
The Floride is equipped with a Renault 5 TS engine of 1, 397 cc producing 63 DIN bhp, running perfectly.
CONDITION OF THE MONOCOQUE SHELL
During a recent inspection, examination of the underside beneath the old protective coatings revealed significant perforation corrosion in certain parts of the monocoque shell.
The photographs attached to this listing deliberately and without concealment show the condition of the affected areas, particularly the perforations and corroded sheet metal sections.
The MOT test carried out on 14/ 09/ 2026 is unfavourable for major defects and notably mentions:
"Excessive corrosion affecting the rigidity of assembly G, D"
Restoration of the structure therefore requires substantial panel work, which is why I prefer to hand the car over to a knowledgeable enthusiast rather than undertake this restoration myself.
The MOT test also notes:
• notable imbalance of the service brake at the rear;
• insufficient service brake efficiency;
• faulty windscreen wiper;
• headlight beam alignment outside prescribed limits.

A PARTICULARLY COMPLETE FLORIDE
Despite the condition of its structure, this Floride has the advantage of being particularly complete.
It notably includes its hard-top, its convertible roof and frame, its glazing, opening panels, chrome trim and accessories, its dashboard and instruments, a car radio with cassette player and telescopic aerial, its spare wheel, as well as its R5 TS engine and mechanical components.
The quality of the cabin presentation and the condition of the upholstery are also noteworthy features of the overall package.
This Floride can therefore serve either as a restoration project for someone with the necessary panel work skills, or as an excellent mechanical base and parts donor for the restoration of another Floride.
The car is sold as a complete unit only: I do not sell parts separately.
The price of €5, 500 reflects both the extent of the structural work required and the value of all the components present on the car.
The numerous photographs are deliberately intended to show both the general presentation and completeness of the car as well as the actual condition of its underside.
Given the condition of the shell, I insist that any potential buyer comes to view and examine the car in person before concluding the sale.
Note: in one of the photographs, the car is still fitted with whitewall tyres; these have since been replaced with standard tyres currently fitted to the vehicle.
