Great example of a late 90's warm hatch, in unmodified condition and with a clear Motorcheck report.
This 2000 model Renault Clio RSI is the mk2 pre facelift version which uses the 110 bhp 1598cc 16v engine. Combined with its low weight of around 995kg, this makes for a competitive power to weight ratio, with a quoted 0-60 time of just 9. 3 seconds and top speed of 122 mph. Not as quick of course as the hot 172 versions, but very competitive against its rivals of the time such as the Saxo VTR. This car also has the aluminium bonnet.
What stands out about this one is it is totally unmodified. It still retains the original radio cassette, Renault Sport mats and alloys and there are no aftermarket induction kits or rear silencer. It has had 6 owners in total, with the most recent keeping the car for 13 years. Apart from the windscreen, all windows and the sunroof are security etched with the registration number.
There isn't much history but the bookpack is present and there are invoices on file for two cambelt and water pump changes, the most recent being in November 2020.
It drives really well with plenty of power and torque throughout the rev range and a nice tight feel overall. The gear changes are positive and the clutch feels spot on.
It is MOT'd to September 2027 and apart from the a/ c all the features work. It rides on a set of matching Yokohama all season tyres.

The bodywork condition is very good, not mint. It does not appear to have had any paintwork prior to me acquiring it. There are small parking dings here and there but nothing major.
Interior is good with only minor creasing/ wear to the leather parts of the seats and some discolouring on the steering wheel. Find the right colour leather paint and this is easily rectified.
The RSI is now very rare with 'how many left' listing just 17 examples still licensed.
Overall this is a chance to acquire a really original example before the market wakes up to this over looked warm hatch. Just like the Peugeot 205 XS and Vauxhall Nova SR, this will surely happen.
