The Appeal
Here we have a remarkable piece of early American motoring history. Produced during the final year of the First World War, the Series E featured Buick's overhead-valve four-cylinder engine at a time when most manufacturers relied on simpler side-valve designs, highlighting Buick's engineering ambition even in this formative era of the automobile.
This example is reported to be completely original and unmodified, retaining its period wood-and-metal coachwork, vertical grille, high chassis, and waterproof soft top. The vendor rates the bodywork, paintwork, interior, and mechanicals all as very good, with only minor signs of wear consistent with a vehicle now over a century old. It holds French Carte Grise de Collection and has been stored in a sheltered garage. The vendor states it drives well for its age and requires only recommissioning to return to active use.
For collectors of veteran and Edwardian-era automobiles, this presents a compelling opportunity to acquire a well-preserved, unmodified example of early General Motors production.022.JPG12.16 MB
