The Speedster was a custom modification offered by independent manufacturers who wanted to use their Model T for race and rally events. Usually, the chassis would be lowered, the wheelbase extended, and a more powerful engine fitted; then, of course, the fantastic sleek-looking Speedster body was added.
This lovely example was resorted in the States by a museum with sponsored students carrying out the work. The chassis is standard and has been refurbished along with the engine and transmission. A Speedster boat tail body has then been added to create the 1920s-style Model T racecar. The project was well documented and completed in 2015, and it was then imported to the UK.
