4.5L Buick Straight-6 powerplant with manual transmission
The Appeal
The roaring Twenties were the time when the motor car truly took hold across the world, and there were few countries more dedicated to them than the USA. A lot of the greats were now rolling out innovative vehicles, some surprisingly capable even by today's standards.
One such example was the Buick Model 48, an 'Opera' coupe that boasted luxurious trims, a top speed of 70mph and - crucially - the Buick Straight Six, an engine that managed to endure from 1914 all the way up until the beginning of the dirty thirties. These nifty cars were so capable that Buick was one of the cars of choice for the infamous Chicago mobsters during prohibition.
First registered in the UK in 1980, this car was originally based in the dry state of Arizona and was restored by an enthusiast around ten years ago - with the Fisher bodywork in excellent order and the car ready and waiting to hit the road as a petrol-powered time capsule.
