It had been quite the job, getting Henry Ford to admit the 'T' was getting long in the tooth. Edsel and the pipe-smoking, suit-wearing bods at the Detroit head offices had finally managed to twist his arm, and after all manner of developmental delays, the Model 'A' finally hit the market some 18 years after its predecessor.
