1935 Peugeot 301D

Strong points

  • Complete restoration by a marque enthusiast
  • Well-preserved original interior
  • Kept dry in a garage for fifteen years

What makes it desirable

The Peugeot 301 was an elegant pre-war family saloon, produced for four years between 1932 and 1936. It was one of the first mass-produced cars to be fitted with independent front suspension, which greatly improved handling and reduced vibration in the steering wheel - a feature that made it a popular choice for taxis at the time.

Here we present a beautifully restored example of the 301D, the latest evolution in the line. It has an unusual history: restored by a farm worker from Romanée Conti, he then sold it to the current owner's father to finance his daughter's wedding. Stored in a dry garage for the last fifteen years, it is now waiting for a new keeper to take it on the road again.

We also check whether vehicles are registered as written off as part of a total loss at the time the advert is placed on Car & Classic and provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the status of the vehicle and it is always worth carrying out a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.
