The Appeal

Customised and built to a very high standard, this one-off, California-inspired hot rod is certain to turn heads wherever it goes, with numerous CA-inspired touches such as the FOOSE wheels, slick bodywork and silver finish.
Purchased by the vendor from the builder, a full specification is available to view below. Imported to Belgium with all duties and taxes paid, but as-yet unregistered, this hot-rod is ready to register and enjoy in the European country of your choosing.

History/Paperwork

 • Florida title present
 • Import documentation included
Purchased by the vendor from the builder, this 1936 Ford Hot-Rod is a long way removed from the original commercial vehicle it is based upon, and features an excellent specification which is certain to excite any custom car enthusiast.
As a rough guide, please find below a basic outline of the specification:
 • 350 small-block Chevrolet engine, running between 250 and 300bhp
 • TH 700R 4 automatic transmission
 • Air-conditioning retrofitted (Vintage AC unit)
 • Ididit steering column
 • Brake overhaul and upgrades including power-assistance
 • Power steering (rack-and-pinion)
 • Electric windows
 • Lokar shifter
 • S10 frame for added comfort
 • Disc brake conversion on the front axle
 • FOOSE wheels
Having now confirmed that all systems are working as they should be, this Hot Rod is now in need of a new home, one which will register and enjoy the vehicle as the builder intended.

The Interior

 • Pristine condition throughout
 • Upgraded gauges
 • All systems working
On the inside, it looks as if this truck has barely ever been sat in, let alone driven.
Obviously, this is not the original interior, with all aspects of the cabin (headlining, dashboard, seats, carpets, etc) having seemingly received attention during the build process, and they are all the better for it in our opinion.
The seats show virtually no discernible signs of use or wear, whilst the carpets are also looking virtually box-fresh in their condition.
Up above, there is no sagging from the roof that we could see, whilst ahead of the driver a brace of Dolphin aftermarket gauges help monitor the 350ci engine’s vital signs, whilst a Vintage AC unit hidden underneath the dashboard keeps everything cool, which is vital for those summer car show trips.
In the rear, the bed itself presents very well indeed, with the floor showing only a few light signs of use, along with some more noticeable scrapes on the right-hand rear corner of the bed sides, as seen in the gallery below.
The vendor reports that all systems are working as they should be.

The Exterior

 • Fantastic colour
 • FOOSE alloy wheels
 • No damage
On the outside, this ’36 Ford remains in excellent condition throughout, having evidently covered only limited mileage since the customisation works were completed.
The bodywork, for example, is wonderfully straight throughout as far as we can see, with the exception of the ‘butterfly’ bonnet, which requires some attention as it sits proud of the vehicle when closed.
The vendor also notes that one of the rear fenders is not the original metal item, and has been replaced with a GRP/fibreglass item, though this is difficult to tell without feeling it.
Elsewhere, there are some signs of wear to the paintwork, such as chips to the outer edges of the doors and bay, surface corrosion on the inner edges of the bay behind the cab, and some light corrosion to the rear bumper right-hand corner, but nothing that gives any cause for concern as far as we can tell.
All four of the FOOSE wheels are in excellent condition, with no kerb rash or major marking to be aware of.

The Mechanicals

 • Full working order
 • 350ci Small-block Chevrolet V8
 • Chassis in outstanding condition - must see!
Underneath the butterfly bonnet, the 350ci small-block V8 presents very well indeed, with no signs of any oil or fluid leaks, and everything looking to be in its right-and-proper place as far as we can tell.
The air filter was not mounted during the photo shoot, but is present and will be delivered with the vehicle.
Underneath, the chassis and frame of the vehicle is in outstanding condition - as you can see in the photographs below - having evidently seen limited use on good roads, with no signs of any corrosion issues or leaks that we can see, nor that we’ve been made aware of.
The vendor reports that the vehicle drives and handles very well with no known issues.

Summary

Built to an exceedingly high standard, ready to use and with all import duties and fees paid, this is a fantastic opportunity to obtain a one-off, custom-built Ford hot rod that is certain to draw a crowd wherever it goes.
If you’re a hot rod, American car or performance vehicle enthusiast, this is the one for you. Good luck!

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
€0 to €9,999 €100.00
€10,000 to €49,999 €250.00
€50,000 to €99,999 €500.00
€100,000 + €1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
