The Appeal

One of the first post-war commercials to hit the market, the Ford F1 may well be one of the most iconic trucks in history. As with many American designs of the era, there's a fabulous deco styling to the bodywork, and - of course - with engines that were capable of impressive grunt, they've gained an impressive reputation with Muscle Car enthusiasts.

This particular vehicle, with its matte black finish and new wooden bed, is a standout example of the model. Even if the paintwork isn't enough to sell it to you - and why wouldn't it be? - The truck has been retrimmed, carries a new wooden bed, has a muscle-style chopped-top and at some point in its life was swapped over to the mighty 5.8L Windsor V8 powerplant.

The Condition

Underneath of the car has been rock guarded
New wooden bed added to the rear
Original wheels, painted in a rich teel
Shod in Hankook tyres
Some corrosion to the underside, though nothing structural
New upholstery in the cab in a fabulous quilted teal and black
Wooden steering wheel installed
Driver's door opens with a key fob, passenger door opens from a button inside the cab
Windscreen wipers need to be added
Interior sun visors need to be installed
Headlining is in need of resealing
Vehicle has been mainly kept outdoors for the last 4 years, but appears to have held up to this very well

The vendor notes it's still a great drive, considering it's on its original steering and suspension
