The Attractions
The Great Depression gave the world one of Lancia's most innovative cars. The 'little jewel' Ardea condensed the great qualities of the larger Lancia models into a small, economical and frugal car suitable for the needs of four people.
Of course, in pure Lancia style, it was also packed with revolutionary innovations, such as the equally compact 903 cm³ V4 engine. It was a highly successful car that evolved into four series during its three decades of production.
Here we can admire one of the last examples, a 1951 5 Series with a pleasing patina. It was bought to build up a small collection of classic cars and has rarely been used in recent years. It shows some signs of wear but is a solid car in good order, a car definitely worth investing in to improve. The most recent overhaul and maintenance work was carried out in 2021 and 2022.
It has been brought to our attention that there is a problem with the cylinder head gasket. Once fixed, however, this Lancia promises to be an interesting alternative to some of the more popular Fiat-based pre- and post-war cars.

- Car true to original specification, with chrome and original headlights in good condition
- Equipped with both wand and indicator lights for added safety
- The four-seater interior upholstered in grey fabric appears to have been reupholstered and is in good condition
- There are a couple of visible tears on the front seats
- Original dashboard and instruments in good condition with some nice patina
- Fitted with the original cream-coloured three-spoke steering wheel
