THE APPEAL

Produced from 1936 to 1955, MGs vintage, lightweight ‘T-Type’ roadsters were a definitive British car that proved hugely successful both in Britain and over in the states.

Exceptionally styled, the TD Midget was the third variant of the T Type series, which used its predecessor the Type Cs drivetrain, independent suspension and a 1250cc inline-4 engine. Its prewar design and classic aura helped ignite a romance between American and British sports cars, with many of the roadsters produced shipped across the Atlantic to the sun-baked states such as California and Arizona, which is exactly where this gorgeous TD variant spent the majority of its days before being purchased and brought to the UK in 2013.

The dry environment of the West Coast resulted in a well-survived, corrosion-free chassis and body, providing an exceptional foundation for extensive work to be carried out. This work included a complete engine rebuild, including a crankshaft oil seal upgrade and a right-hand drive conversion. Just under £11,000 has been spent recommissioning the car ensuring originality where possible.

This is an excellent example of MGs vintage roadster presented well with some patina, it benefits from large expenditure and as such would make a wonderful classic for any enthusiast or collector to enjoy.
